Real Post

My take on this poem is that there is an adult remebering their past. He’s remebering events that may have not taken place at all, but is able to picture them. This man hints that he was young enough to still have a childish imagination, but wanting to be older and doing adult activities. I believe that he was my age in this memory. He wanted to be older and believed that he was being more of an adut by smoking. This poem personally remindes me of the numerous summers that I have not had a care in the world. Where I did anything I wanted to, not considering the conequences. I have also have had visions of summer events that may not have taken place. There are many vague memories.

Fluoride

Many people disagree with the use of fluoride due to its side affects. Studies show that fluoride can be more damaging than lead. Fluoride can lead to abnormal behavior in children, due to brain damage it causes. Also, since 1916, there have been numerous reports of decaying teeth. In 1931, it was identified as “dental fluorosis”. In 1984 issue of ” Clinical Toxicology of Commercial Products stated that fluoride is more poisonous than lead and slightly less poisonous than arsenic. Fluoride has been used as a pesticide for mice, rats, and other small house pets. Even Procter & Gamble, makers of Crest toothpaste, admit that this is “theoretically” true.

I personally am against fluoride being added to water. Fluoride can harm infants and if it is put into water, there will be an extremely high chance of more children having brain damage. The A.D.A. (American Dental Association) already advises parents to not give their children fluoride. If added to water, which is a necessity for children, fluoride will do more harm than good.

An Abrasive is required in order to combine chemicals with the fluoride. For example: Sodium. Sodium and fluoride are compatible and will create sodium fluoride.

The fact that my brain can be damaged is a major concern in my mind. Because of my age, I have a higher risk of my brain being damaged. Although there are many good qualities to fluoride, the dangers of fluoride are just too large.
